Books and Boards.

Over the weekend, six of us got together at my friend Aysia’s apartment for an afternoon filled with chats about Vishen’s book, The Code of the Extraordinary Mind, vision-boarding and copious amounts of popcorn and chocolate-y goods.

It’s so refreshing to have open chats with other women about self-development — sharing our challenges, how to overcome those challenges, and simply living life more intentionally.

When I went shopping for magazines we could use, I picked up Cottage Living, (which upon further research seems to have been discontinued in 2008…so thanks to my local CVS for continuing to sell them?) My ideal living situation is a gorgeous little cottage in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by a landscaped garden where I could sit and read amongst flowers, strum a ukelele and plant my own herbs — so that magazine find was a holy grail.

All I can say is that I really recommend you just sit down with a few of your friends, gather some old magazines, and DIY old-school.

If you don’t necessarily know what you’re looking to prioritize in your life, this may be a good place to start. Grab some scissors and tape, and get to work.
